How to get to Nidri
Nidri, the base for our practical sailing, is located on the east coast of the island of Levkas, in the Ionian island on the western side of Greece.
None of our holiday or course prices include travel because there are so many different options.
The nearest airport is Aktio/Preveza (code PVZ) and there are normally direct flights available from Stuttgart, Munich & Düsseldorf, as well as several UK airports among others. Flight options to Preveza are different every year, so feel free to ask us for advice. In 2019, for example, Condor flies to Preveza from Stuttgart on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with Tuesday flights being much cheaper.
Another option is to fly to Athens (ATH) then get the bus from there to Levkas (normally about €30 per person each way).
A third option is to fly to Corfu, then either take the ferry from there to Igoumenitsa and bus to Levkas, or fly from Corfu to Preveza on SkyExpress.
And a fourth option is to fly to Cephalonia and take the ferry to Vassiliki on Levkas.
Other alternatives are to drive to Ancona (or Venice) in Italy and get the overnight ferry across to Igoumenitsa (Superfast/Anek or Minoan lines). This is our personal preferred option if you have the time.
Or you can even take the train to Ancona then a transfer from Igoumenitsa to us. If you would like more info on this please contact us.
Bus timetables to Levkas can be found here.
There are sometimes lift sharing options on the Friends of Levkas Marina Facebook group.
We can organise a taxi from Preveza or Levkas to Nidri on request; the cost is normally around €50 from the airport.
