We sail in the Ionian islands of Greece – the area featured in Homer’s Odyssey, no less – on our yacht Cloud Nine, one of the best boats in her class.
We tailor our holidays entirely to what you need and want.
We have no such thing as a “standard” itinerary, but use our extensive local knowledge to take best advantage of the conditions and avoid the crowds.

A different island/taverna every night

Just imagine it…. a lazy breakfast, a gentle sail to anchor up in a secluded bay for lunch where you can swim straight off the back of the boat or have a barbecue on the beach. Then head to an overnight stop, either at anchor or in a village with a great dinner in the local taverna. And why not treat yourself to a pre-prandial G&T in the cockpit while you watch passers-by look on enviously?

No experience required

Your skipper, Emma, is an RYA yachting and dinghy instructor, your first mate, Nick, is an RYA dinghy instructor with years of experience yachting in the Ionian. And not forgetting the ship’s cat, who doesn’t have many miles under his keel yet but chose his boat and crew very carefully. That means you don’t have to learn to sail unless you want to.

Your home for the week

You will join us on our yacht, Cloud Nine, sleeping on board in one of 2 double guest cabins, with separate heads (bathroom) for the exclusive use of guests. But don’t worry – in the unlikely event you should find life on board is not for you, we can organise a villa or hotel instead. Come as a couple, as a family or with one or more friends. Also an ideal team-building activity.

If you just want to be wafted around the islands – that’s fine.
If you want to be involved in sailing the boat – as a complete novice or as an experienced sailor – that’s fine.
If you want to follow a syllabus to obtain RYA (Royal Yachting Association – the UK’s governing and training body) qualifications – that’s fine.
If you want to sail dinghies as well as the yacht – that’s fine.
If you have a yen to see Captain Corelli’s island, the possible location of Homer’s Ithaca, a picturesque Greek hill village, old fishing villages, a deserted bay only accessible by small boat, find a bar in a cave, or the best restaurant in the Ionian, enjoy a lunch stop with a swim, spend the night at anchor under the stars… – that’s fine 🙂
Our holidays are completely bespoke.

Greece and the Ionian provide an absolutely idyllic setting in a variety of challenging conditions for experienced and novice yachtsmen and women.  The crystal clear waters and secluded anchorages provide a relaxing haven which can be contrasted with the hustle and bustle of the tourist marinas with their free wifi and internet cafes.

I just wanted to say thank you again for the great sailing trip! It was a lot of fun and I learned a lot.
I really appreciate you taking the time to show me the ropes (literally) 😉 and your patience with a noobie like me.

Your holiday will start in Nidri on the east coast of Levkas island in the Ionian sea of western Greece, the mythical home of Odysseus, for some classic island hopping by sea. Discover bays only accessible by boat and deserted ruined villages.
